Ordering & payment
How do I place an order?
Add items to your cart and check out on the website. You can also place an order by phone at 801-561-8877 or by emailing your purchase order to [email protected].
What payment methods do you accept?
Online orders can be paid with Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover.
Customers with approved credit terms can choose Invoice my account at checkout instead of paying by card. To apply for terms, contact our sales team. Once your terms are approved, we'll turn on invoicing for your website login.
Can I add a PO number to my order?
Yes. Enter it in the PO number box at checkout. It will show on your order confirmation, your invoice and your order history.
Do you offer account pricing?
Yes, for qualifying accounts. Contact our sales team. Once account pricing is set up, your discount is applied automatically at checkout whenever you're logged in.
Can I get a quote for a large or recurring order?
Yes. Email your list of part numbers and quantities to [email protected] and we'll send a written quote. Quotes are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise, and pricing is based on the quantities quoted.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Contact us as soon as possible. Changes and cancellations to an accepted order need our approval and may be subject to restocking charges or costs already incurred. Special order, made-to-order and non-cancelable items cannot be changed or cancelled once the order is accepted.
I don't see the part I need. Can you get it?
Very likely. Our website shows our most common sanitary fittings, gaskets and clamps, but we can source many more sizes, alloys and specialty parts. Send us the part number, a drawing or a description and we'll find it for you.
Accounts
Do I need an account to order?
Yes, an account is required to check out. If you don't have one yet, you can create it during checkout. Just enter your email and a password when prompted.
Your account lets you track orders, view order history, reorder quickly, and receive tax-exempt pricing once your certificate is on file.
I already buy from RT Process. Do I still need to create a website account?
Yes. Ordering online only needs a website username and password, even if you already buy from us by phone or email. Create your login at checkout, then let us know the email you used so we can apply any tax exemption or account terms to it.
I forgot my password. What do I do?
Click Lost your password? on the login page and enter your email address. We'll send you a link to reset it.
Sales tax
Do you charge sales tax?
Yes, unless you have a valid exemption certificate on file with us. Applicable sales tax is calculated at checkout based on your shipping address.
How do I set up a tax-exempt account?
- Create your website account (you can do this at checkout)
- Email a copy of your current resale or exemption certificate to [email protected], along with the email address on your account
- Once we've reviewed it and marked your account tax exempt, sales tax will no longer be added to your orders when you're logged in
Please send your certificate before placing your order. Certificates must be current. When yours is renewed, please email us the updated copy so your account stays tax exempt.
I'm tax exempt but was charged tax. Can I get it back?
Contact us with your order number and a copy of your exemption certificate. If the certificate was valid at the time of the order, we'll correct the charge.
Shipping
How quickly will my order ship?
In-stock orders are processed within 1–2 business days, Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays. Orders placed after hours or on weekends begin processing the next business day. Items that ship directly from the manufacturer may have different lead times.
Need a firm ship date? Contact us before ordering and we'll confirm availability.
Which carriers do you use, and how much is shipping?
Standard orders ship via UPS from Midvale, Utah. UPS Ground, 2nd Day Air and Next Day Air are available at checkout. Rates are calculated from package weight, dimensions and destination and shown before you complete your order.
Why can't I choose UPS for some items?
Some items, such as tubing, pumps, tanks and other large or heavy equipment, are too long or heavy for UPS and must ship by freight (LTL). When your cart contains one of these items, checkout will only offer freight shipping or local pickup. Our team will contact you to arrange delivery and confirm freight costs.
Can I pick up my order?
Yes. Choose local pickup at checkout and pick up at our Midvale, UT location. Pickup hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM MT, excluding holidays. Please give us time to prepare your order, and call ahead for time-sensitive pickups.
Where do you ship?
We currently ship within the contiguous United States only. We don't ship to Alaska, Hawaii, US territories or internationally at this time. Contact us if you have special shipping needs.
How do I track my order?
You'll receive a shipping confirmation email with your UPS tracking number once your order ships. You can also track it from your account on our website. Drop-ship items get their own tracking number when they leave the manufacturer.
My order arrived damaged or something is missing. What should I do?
Contact us within 5 business days of delivery. Keep all packaging and take photos before opening or using the product so we can file a claim with the carrier.
For freight deliveries, don't refuse the shipment. Accept it, note any visible damage on the delivery receipt, then call us right away.
Returns
Can I return an item?
Yes, within 30 days of the shipment date, with prior approval. Contact us with your order number, the items and the reason for the return. Once approved, we'll issue a Return Goods Authorization (RGA) number, which must be written on the outside of the package. Returns without an RGA number will be refused.
Some items are only returnable with the manufacturer's approval. We'll let you know when you request the return.
Is there a restocking fee?
Approved returns of items shipped from our warehouse have a 35% restocking fee. Restocking fees for manufacturer drop-ship items are set by the manufacturer and will be confirmed when your return is approved. Return shipping and original shipping charges are not refunded.
How will I be refunded?
Approved returns are issued as store credit to your account. For items we stock, credit is usually issued within 5 business days of receiving and inspecting the return.
Some items can only be returned with the manufacturer's approval. For those items, credit is issued once the factory has inspected and approved the return, which can take longer.
Store credit can be used on any future order and must be applied within one year.
What can't be returned?
- Special order, made-to-order, non-cancelable or non-returnable items
- Products that have been installed, used, altered, or modified at your request
- Items not in original, resalable condition and packaging
- Items more than 30 days past the shipment date
See our full Return & Refund Policy for details.
Products & sizing
How do I know what size tri-clamp fitting I need?
Tri-clamp sizes are based on the tube OD, not the ferrule flange. The flange is about ½" larger than the tube, so measuring the flange and ordering that size will give you a clamp that's too big.
Our Tri-Clamp Sizing Guide has a size finder plus flange, clamp and gasket charts.
Why do some sizes share the same clamp?
½" and ¾" tubes use the same ¾" clamp (0.984" flange), and 1" and 1½" tubes use the same 1½" clamp (1.984" flange). These pairs can be joined directly. When joining two different sizes in a pair, always use the larger gasket. For a smooth flow path between sizes, use a reducer instead. Sizes 2" and up each have their own clamp.
What's the difference between 304 and 316L stainless?
304 stainless is the standard choice for most food, beverage and dairy applications. 316L adds molybdenum for better resistance to chlorides, acids and aggressive cleaning chemicals, and its low carbon content makes it better for welding. 316L is commonly specified for pharmaceutical, biotech and high-purity systems.
Which gasket material should I choose?
It depends on what's running through the line, the temperature and how the system is cleaned. In short: PTFE-based gaskets (Tuf-Steel®, Tuf-Flex®, PTFE) last longest in steam and high-purity service, platinum silicone handles temperature swings and misaligned fittings, FKM and EPDM are good general-purpose choices, and Buna should never be used with steam.
Our Gasket Material Guide has a material finder, performance ratings and the color-dot codes. If you're still not sure, tell us about your process and we'll recommend one.
Which tri-clamp style should I use?
Single hinge clamps are cost-effective and quick to open for frequent cleaning. Double hinge clamps are easier to maneuver in tight spaces. Bolted high-pressure clamps are best for high-pressure or semi-permanent connections. Pressure ratings by size are listed in our Tri-Clamp Sizing Guide.
Can I get material certifications (MTRs)?
Yes. We can provide mill test reports for every fitting we sell. Email [email protected] with the heat number stamped on the fitting and we'll send you the MTR.
Do you have dimension drawings?
Yes. Most product pages include a dimension drawing and a dimension table for each size. If you need a drawing that isn't shown, contact us.
